Oh I'm sure you guys will find plenty of objectionable details on Kasich should he become a likely nominee.  I have no idea what, but you'll find something to magnify and complain about.

As opposed to Clinton.  No one ever magnifies and complains about anything with her.

She gives us plenty.  We don't need to magnify.

Hey guys, what's the scoop on Ben Carson?  He seems to be rising quite strongly in the polls, but I don't know a thing about him other than A: he's black, and B: he's a retired doctor.

He's an idiot.

He's an evangelical who has written a bunch of Christian themed self-help and personal improvement books.  I've seen them on sale in the drug store.

He seemed almost curiously detached in the debates.  Doesn't seem to have made any effort to learn about the job.  Not clear why he is running in the first place.

What's to learn? Just do what the handlers tell you to do.

I've started to wonder if the Clinton camp is intentionally dragging this servergate item out as some sort of strategy. Only way I can make sense of Clinton one day being like I've no idea if my server was wiper before handing to Feds and then her lawyer confirming shortly after.  Maybe they are thinking that this is a scandal that doesn't have legs so better to ride out these early campaign days with something like that?

Some quotes from him:

QuoteEvolution and creationism both require faith. It's just a matter of where you choose to place that faith.

QuoteYou know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery. And it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.

QuoteWell, my thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality. It doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition.

QuoteThere comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened. - Carson comparing Democrats and those who voted for President Obama to Nazis.

QuoteBecause 9/11 is an isolated incident. Things that are isolated issues as opposed to things that fundamentally change the United Sates of America and shift power from the people to the government. That is a huge shift. You have to take a long-term look at something that fundamentally changes the power structure of America." - Carson claiming that "Obamacare" is worse than 9/11

Quote"A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they're gay." - on why being gay is a choice

Whatever the strategy, I don't think it's being handled well.  I understand the tendency to want to minimize it, joke about it, claim it's just the same ol' partisan politics making something out of nothing-- because at least your base is going to toe the line, right?  But when the press doesn't buy that line and keeps asking questions, you start losing swing voters.

Yeah, I mean it all seems very bizarre. Still unless this story has legs that carry it into Spring, I doubt most swing voters will be caring/remembering it.
