Reading towards the end of the article, and it looks like lots of ships and boats taken. More than I would have thought, including private boats like this French one. Yemeni tugboat, etc. Just nuts.

One thing I don't understand is how the motherships are staying undetected.  Surely those ships are big enough to be spotted on satellites and be dispatched in quick order.
