Holding out for the Biscuits and Gravy flavored Cinnabon?   ;)
Why would I want a B&G flavored Cinnabon when I can get actual B&G at Pete's Muffler and Tire?

Heh, you could draft for me a whole checklist of diabetes/heart attack inducing locales for me to check the whole American experience during my trip.  So, Chick-Fil-A, bagels, what else?  ;)

Steak from a Sizzler type restaurant
Greasy pizza from Domino's or Pizza Hut
Taco Bell
Hamburger & fries from whichever burger joint you want
funnel cake(if you go to an amusement park)
Chinese takeout

I suggest finding a Cinnabon shop:

http://www.cinnabon.com/experience/products/classic.html

That'll give you the American experience. Of Diabetes.

Chick-Fil-A is good. May not be up there in the northeast though.

In NYC, try Lombardi's. I can't remember the name of soul food place in Harlem with the Chicken and Waffles though.

This Lombardi's? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lombardi%27s

And apparently there are Chick-Fil-As in NY, NJ, Massachussets, Maryland and Pennsilvania, so I shouldn't have problems finding one.

Chick-Fil-A is straight out, son.  The greatest fast food chain of all time only has outlets in the American South.  While I am blessed to be able to enjoy the wonders of Chick-Fil-A daily*, you won't be anywhere near their stronghold... though I hear they've started moving into the D.C. area, so maybe you can find one there.

* except Sunday.  Fucking Baptist nutjob Truett Cathy :ultra:

States with Chick-Fil-As:

Save for the pizza (Pizza Hut and Domino's are already here), I'll write down the rest. I'm curious about Taco Bell, a co-worker of mine that was raised in the Rota naval base (they had one there for the American sailors) said that she loved it to bits.

While your at Tacobell, grab some KFC it's probably next door.

Already here as well.

Also, try White Castle. Expect to get the runny shits in about 3 hours, but it is worth it. Once. You'll discover why the burgers are called Rectum Rockets.

It's still worth it. American KFC is different.

She hates life. I can't really eat at Taco Bell post-Del Taco.

Once every 3 or 4 years is plenty for me, but he did say he wanted the American culinary experience.  ;)
