I'm having my arm twisted to give another triathlon a go, though. But the one my friends are all entering has the same cycle distance for the fun, sprint and pull events - 23km :S

What are the distances for swimming and running?
Fun - 200m, 2.5km
Sprint - 400m, 5km
Full... oh wait, that's all they have :)

My fitness for the latter half of 2009 so far sucks rocks.

hmmm I'm still struggling to do more regular exercise activity. The weight has been steadily under 190 though for about two month now. Next week when I take a week off work. I'm going to try and do some cardio every day.

I've been so depressed that work and the sofa are the only places I've been recently.
:p

Sprint could be fun, if you give it all from the start.

cool. by comparison I did 42km in 2:40 on trails and in traffic.  I keep on finding more wind the longer I bike.
Running? That's good. I'll attempt the local marathon in October, if just to prove to myself I'm not completely out of shape.

hell, no. biking! mix of off road, up hills, on trails and then in homicidal city traffic. it's exercise in the real world, red lights and all. :D

... it stuns me people can run that fast.

Went for a quick swim at lunchtime. Could have done without the fellow "fluffing" himself down his shorts in the "changing village"

Down five pounds.  Woo.
PDH!

Half an hour plod over the Thames and down to Kew garden. Knocked half a minute of my pre-mile average :w00t:

I woke up and did a half knee bend lift 195 lbs this morning to stand up.  I am done working out for the day.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Squeeeeee!!!

After eight years of trying to get in, I've been awarded a London Marathon place running for the Alzheimer's Society, a cause very close to my heart.

:) good.

Note, I didn't even make fun of "evry" whoever that is.

I was excited :P

No exercise for me lately.

I miscalculated a fast bend while going indoor karting. It was the first lap of the race, and it turns out the kart I had picked had cable-actuated brakes, while the one I had used during qualifying had hydraulic brakes. I took the fastest bend of the circuit exactly as I had up to that point, but with weaker brakes, I was too fast and hit the protective gas-pipes sideways at significant speed.

I don't think I've got any ribs broken, fortunately. My ribcage hurts a bit during night and especially mornings. It hurt a lot after a fun dinner with my workmates last Friday though, I guess due to all the laughing. At first it also hurt where the ribs join the spine when I twisted or bended the back.

Ten days mostly lost due to the flu'

But my weight seems stable and today I have started with some weight lifting again.

Somehow - and this is becoming a recurrent theme - when I concentrate my efforts in some direction, I get better results in another field. After two months of trying to improve my biceps and triceps, I have made some progress but the improvements are far more visible in my back and my shoulders.

Returned to my running group yesterday. I found it very hard, but perservered. Our coach, who started running at 40 and is veteran world marathon gold medallist , is going to design a programme for me.

Definitely feeling the benefit, and people are noticing. 8lbs down and, after a brief yet horrifying sojourn into "obese", my BMI is back into the merely "overweight" category  :Embarrass: I know from experience it'll all suddenly feel a lot easier when there's less junk in the trunk.
