So you have tried bombardment. Is it effective on unit stacks without a castle or can you better just assult them?

Berkut

It seemed to do a point of damage or so to every unit, and knocked down his castle 1 level.

Ouch, that's pretty ugly.

The Dominion of Ulmont sends their condolences, and regrets that the peaceful ties that exist with the Western Republic of the Holy Ehrie are only equalled by the peaceful ties that exist with the Federated Lands of Inner Berkundia.

We will of course send observers to verify that the formalities of war are being observed by both parties.

After receiving disturbing reports from the Ulmontian observers, it has become clear that the soldiers from the Federated Lands of Inner Berkundia have been engaged in repeated atrocities.  In addition, there are other reports of intrigue between the Berkundians and the Ehrians against the Dominion of Ulmont.

Accordingly, it seems that the Dominion has no choice but to seize certain Berkundian territories to create a buffer zone.

Berkut

Ahhh, the most base treachery from our "ally", very disturbing to see such a move from ulmont and ehrie.

The Axis of Evil has been formed, who will oppose it?

ehrie

Oh please, I asked for a truce, and you refused.

I TOLD you Habs was going to grab all that space, and that ulmont and him where going to bone us, and we should just come to some kind of agreement, but no, you had to go and talk ulmont, the lying little bastard, into coming in on your side so you could continue your war.

Sigh.

Habbaku

I am not stabbing anyone in the back--I am merely coming to the aid of the wronged nation of Berkundia, who is being driven to the brink of elimination by its vile neighbors.

When Ehrie's aggression halts, mine will as well.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Sigh.

You offered me a truce in exchange for rows of territory. I tried to end it without any more fighting between us.

Berkut

Right - you tried to end it with you in possession of all the disputed territory, and refused to even negotiate. Shrug. It's not like you came up with any kind of counter-proposal.

I offered you a better counter proposal, one that would have helped with the inevitable!

No, you rejected my proposal and went with "How about we just stop fighting, with me in posession of 100% of the disputed area?"

Of course I passed on such a clearly one-sided "offer".

Like I said though, I had nothing to lose by war.

Eh, it was only after you gave me the "ehrie is trying to talk me into peace with him and combined war against you" speech that it became obvious that you were trouble...and actually on my border, as opposed to ehrie.

Berkut

How is that trouble, warning you that he is trying to drum up support for a war against you?

Anyway, it is clear your word is worthless.
