Just FYI, GF, messages get cut off after the second sentence or so.  It's best to just PM stuff via Languish.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

The Trade Republic of Habbakuia declares itself neutral in all hostilities.  Our armed forces are not up to the task of more than mere border patrol to make sure refugees from the dirty (yet honorable) nations adjacent do not sneak in and intermix with our populace.

I do find the map configuration very interesting, though.  Lots of open plains and scattered forests...and then a big ore/clay region in the center, ensuring that whoever dominates it will have an upper hand in their economy.

And this is the first war occuring? These open games are too wild west it seems. Well, no surprise there.
