Printing press goes brrrr. Interesting experiment to see how much debt can be sustained.

One trillion per year is interest on the existing debt. But that is growing fast.

The billionaires are just looting the country. Meanwhile our national security and trade is being destroyed. Our legal system is being undermined. The Constitution reduced to a piece of paper.

Inertia is keeping everything in place for now but things are going to start to unravel in the coming years.

I am not leaving so I will be here to give you guys the view from the inside...presuming I don't get kidnapped and shipped off to El Salvador at some point.

Private equity firms have made a great deal of money acquiring companies, striping them down and forcing them into bankruptcy.  This is the logical next step.

And then - as I'm sure we're all aware - there's the whole Yarvinist-Thielian "I've become disillusioned with democracy" push to break the US and nation states to pave the way for the new Tech CEO feudal-libertarian social order.

Same here.
First Trump term I put some thought into moving abroad, but honestly options seemed limited. Now with a new house, two kids, and aging parents, moving is harder. So we'll likely go down with the ship, sitting just outside of DC as it all burns down. 🎶"Nearer my God to thee..."🎶

there are sort of dead switch timers where you need to connect periodically, and if you don't, they'll send an alert to your closest contact advising them that something happened.

Never thought an American would need that for protesting.

I fully support sending all techbros to the middle of Greenland.  :)

You just have to have your passport active.

Shit I guess I will need to get a passport for my mother. What a pain in my ass.

Supreme Court voted 9-0 to return that Marylander from El Salvador.

So I guess that passes for good news these days.

Will Trump actually do it though?

Is this the one I've heard about which makes it incredibly difficult for anyone who has changed their name, primarily married women, to vote?

Yes. Though that is a theory. I am not sure how it will work in practice.

He could make a start by acknowledging that the "epidemic" is worldwide https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/autism-rates-by-country

That would eliminate a lot of possibilities that are purely domestic and hence irrelevant.
