When I lived in a village here it happened all too often that I had a hour+ walk home after missing my stop.

My idea for an app: an alarm clocked connected to GPS.

They tried the bushido way, but that ended in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  If it didn't work, it is only natural to try something else.  A kinder, gentler, cuter way.

Like Seedy says of the Germans, they need to do things in moderation.  Going from full glory-killing-boner to full emasculation was probably not a good thing.  Of course, that's partly our fault.
