Today is the 2nd day in a row that someone has been hit in the road on Oxford Street. Walked by blood splotches yesterday and now this one, I can see from my office. :(

George Mason renamed their law school

Its now the Antonin Scalia School Of Law

Nice gesture.  Pity about the acronym though.
The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.

Apropos of nothing, there's a beaver living in my dad's pond again. My dad feeds the beaver poplar branches, so it will stay & repair the pond's dam. So far, it is working.

The beaver emerged out of the water while I was walking by the pond, saw me, and slapped the water hard with its tail when he submerged again. Startled the hell out of me.

I would have thought your dad wouldn't want a beaver.  The dam will flood the area, killing the trees.

I'm picturing the chopper attack scene in Apocalypse Now with those decals.

Not sure what the big deal is - it's not like cartoon characters and pictures of girls are some unheard of thing when it comes to military aircraft:

... or is the problem that their helicopters rather than airplanes?

Not in this case - the pond has been there for years, all the trees to be killed are already dead. Without beavers, it would dry up and become a beaver meadow, with new trees growing out of it - in a decade or more. New beavers just keeps the pond as it was.

The big deal as I see it is that those characters are odd mangafied versions of the pilots themselves. Perhaps indicative of the sexism in japan

Pictures of 12 year old girls are more rare.
