I see Guns'n'Roses and the Boomtown Rats with Bob Geldof play Wacken this year.

Plus a whole lot of 90s nostalgia. Clawfinger, Ugly Kid Joe, Prong, Machine Head, Moonsorrow, Ministry, Nailbomb, ...

Though I guess Clawfinger no longer play this song: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigger_(Clawfinger_song)

Your link says they only retired it last year.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

True. Which is quite late, all things considered.

I think the song is a case of "Well meant doesn't necessarily mean well done."

Based on how I saw someone describe it: white guys telling black people not to use the word by using it over and over and over again.

That is reasonably accurate (the lyrics are here: http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/clawfinger/deafdumbblind.html#1 ).

And it doesn't help that the band is Scandinavian, i.e. even more removed.

Of course as a teen in the 90s I just thought it was a cool song with a cool riff. -_-

Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.
