This is a really interesting photo.  The sign says, men to the right, and women to the left.  The sign for men reads from left to right, while the sign for women reads from right to left.  Traditionally, kanji is read from right to left.  But the trend in recent decades is to follow the western way for the text to go from left to right.

True. Didn't notice the sign. That's pretry cool.
Meiji period must have been confusing with some stuff being right to left and some left to right.

Louis CK continues the tradition of comedians beating newspeople at Jeopardy.

How could he not know Louis L'Amour?

Probably for the same reason you continually stun us for all the shit you don't know, contrary to expectations.

I suspect pretty much every thing is.  I imagine that this form of aberrant sexuality is as common as homosexuality.  It's probably covered up so much because nobody wants to admit that people who are their friends are sexually attracted to children.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I'm sure you can imagine a lot of things. What of it?

Well, that does make it even more interesting. Cool.

Nigh Tube is finally launching in London in August:

:D

That happened too often in my 20s after a night of heavy drinking. There was this time where I woke up half a dozen stops past my station, I caught the tube back, I missed the station again, and finally got it right at the third time :D

What I ended up doing is to set my phone's alarm a few minutes before the estimated time of arrival, so it would wake me up and not miss my stop.

Zanza

I once missed my stop on the Long Island Railroad together with two friends. We all only woke up like 30 or so miles too late. That was an expensive taxi ride...

The Larch

Happened to me once in Madrid in a night bus, the driver woke me up when we arrived at the end of the line and I had to take a taxi back home anyway.

My flatmate in Rome once fell asleep at the night subway too, and went back and forth the line a couple of times before he woke up.
