I think the issue is "what's good for the movement" may not be the same as "achieving anything worthwhile for the actual Palestinians living on the WB".

It may well be, but so far I haven't seen any actual evidence that it is, and lots that it isn't.

The Palestinians started this movement.  And AIPAC et al are, in fact, quite concerned about it.

Not every movement started by Palestinians has actually been in the best interest of Palestinians living on the WB. I suspect rather more evidence than that is needed.

The fact that AIPAC et al. are "concerned" is also not proof that it is doing any good for Palestinians living in the WB.

The problem with such reasoning is that it is sorta  zero-sum: the notion that anything "bad" for one "team" must, ipso facto, be "good" for the other; so if Israeli interests are somehow harmed, that must be good for Palestinians (and presumably, vice versa).

And just leave them to their smug Zionist petting party?
Have you ever entertained the notion that maybe your perception is a bit lopsided?  Maybe not all of us here have been brainwashed by AIPAC, ADL, or other Jewish boogeymen.  Maybe some us don't disagree with you because we're Jewish and unlike you can't overcome that impediment to rational thought.  Maybe some of us disagree with you for other reasons.

The success with Veolia's involvement in the East Jerusalen light rail brought a lot of attention to the movement, and there's no reason it can't be expanded upon.

Again a curious definition of success.  The "crime" of the light rail project was that it was an infrastructure project that actually serves Palestinian Jerusalemites - over protests from rightwing Jewish Israelis who wanted to b pass the Palestinian neighborhoods.  And what was the result of the "success" - Veolia sold its shares at a discount to the Israeli shareholders.  (I wonder if their IR people found a way to thank the BDS campaign ;) )

QuoteBut, no, I guess involvement in BDS is per se stupidity, because.

There is a decent rebuttable presumption that is so, although I am open to hearing evidence to the contrary.

I really do think more and more that Zionism is a kind of neurological disorder -- and, yes, one that is more prevalent among certain populations than others -- where the eyes can see the horror of what is being inflicted by Israel on the Palestinians, say during the 2014 Gaza bombings, but something prevents the brain from reacting in the way it ordinarily would were Israel not involved.

EDIT:  Maybe I'll submit an article to NEJM on it.

You may be right, unfortunately the only proposed cure appears to be death by nail bomb.  Until that changes, I'll take the disease over the cure.

Sure.  You made your case then dismissed his as "because."

Mine went away on it's own, by the grace of God.  I do appreciate that others aren't so lucky, but we need to work on a variety of treatments.

Can you see how those of us suffering from that disorder can perceive you as a bit unhinged, though?  Obviously a symptom of our neurological disorder, no doubt, but can you at least see it from a pragmatic standpoint of someone needing to effectively cure people of Zionism?

It is hard to make jokes during a passive aggressive debate on Israel / Palestine. But let me try:

"Did you hear what happened to the Israeli school children when they got on the bus?"

"They got blown up by a suicide bomber!"
