Broadsheet newspapers - why?
So awkward to read.

In general, I'm a bit disappointed with the UK and newspapers. With a nation of so many readers, you'd think they'd have a less awkward manner of reading the news on the Tube.

The more I listen to Norwegian-inspired nonsense such as "let's have a PC national day", the more I understand why we get people like Anders Breivik-Behring.

Really?

You think that's a good reason to like a mass murdering psychopath? I thought you were against terrorist apologism, but I guess I was wrong.

I don't think that's what he's saying.

The Minsky Moment

Minsky and Malthus:  I assume you were both strong supporters of America's "constructive engagement" with South Africa in the 1980s?  After all, at least 120 black jobs could have been lost if we took opposed apartheid.

My recollection was that the SAfrica sanctions and boycotts targeted the regime as a whole.  I.e. they were not specifically targeted at Soweto.  That would been silly and counterproductive, like the BDS policy.

PC crap helps radicalize extremist right nutjobs.  Pretty distinct from terrorism apologism IMO.  You're Languishing too much, and you're above that

CM was a cast extra in School Ties, you know. He was the WASP in the school blazer, the one in the back.  No, the other one.

Nice strawman !

My comment was, you know, somewhat tongue in cheek, and actually a reference to an earlier Capetan Mihail post, not intended for you, multiculti crusader. Check your sarcasm metre while you're at it too. :)

PS: Derspiess got the other part of the message. Danke schön!

I have an idea. We should start a Off Topic thread, where we shortly discuss random shit that does not deserve its own thread.

Yeah, for sure.

The construction is "I understand why people are sympathetic to [psychopath mass murderer] in light of [development/proposal I do not like]" is fine as a jibe/ sarcasm. I'm okay with that, as long as you extend the courtesy of allowing that same construction to be similarly acceptable for people expressing view points you don't approve of :)

Fair enough. So it's kind of like noting how racism and Western imperialism helps radicalize extremist islamist nutjobs. I'm fine with considering that as distinct from terrorism apologism

A truly democratic state that represents Jews and Arabs (i.e. not Israel qua Israel) wouldn't be the result of an Israeli defeat.

And how about the second question?

You haven't answered mine yet.

Soutaiseiriron are finally releasing new stuff. Yay.
....
But watching the video of one of their songs....
They've really embraced the electronic side of their music that I wasn't too big on and gone full on rap :bleeding:
