Yeah I can't find it but I remember some polling - and basically my opinion was broadly the same as the public's. People were generally sympathetic to these types of protesters when they were, for example, blockading oil terminals because there's a clear link with what they're doing. Even (relatively) sympathetic with blocking roads.

But when it's random stuff like the Van Gogh, this, pouring milk onto the floor of a Harvey Nicks people are less sympathetic because they don't really get the point of the protest - and I'm the same.

The best case I see is that it raises awareness - but I don't think the problem is lack of awareness and I don't really see what else this helps with.

And obviously being the UK there is a class angle. The snooker guy is called Edred Whittingham (brother to Hannes and Severn), other of these protesters have been Milo Ponsford and Indigo Rumbelow I suspect there's an element of privilege of people who have been able to radically change their life for climate getting annoyed at plebs with jobs not doing the same.

Yeah but I guess you mean posh people convincing themselves they radically changed their life for climate change.
