Why is that? Did you guys also start just not taking vaccines like a bunch of idiots?

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Some of us indeed did get sucked into anti vaccine conspiracy theories.  I've heard those a long time from certain types of people.  The conversation always goes something like "I know this because I know so and so who is a nurse."

Something about human nature finds things people say (with contrived emotion) more convincing than empirical facts.

Little kids who haven't been vaccinated yet might be a big chunk of it. CTV  are 76% of cases according are infants and adolescents (don't know what age they're considering adolescents).. They've changed the recommended vaccine age to younger kids now (was 1 to 4 years old)

I had the measles, chicken pox, mumps and just recently shingles.

In a row recently or in your life?

And aren't shingles the revenge of chicken pox?

According to the piece I linked, it made its way into Canada through a Mennonite wedding.  The Mennonite community in Canada is largely unvaccinated.  They also referred to Anabaptists, and before hearing this analysis, I did not realize that they were a significant community in central Canada, but it turns out that they live in enough concentrations within individual towns that once the virus takes hold, it goes... viral.

I keep hearing ads on the radio to get vaccinated for measles. I can't recall if it's a provincial health thing or federal message. I think it's BC health though.

Pretty much in a row (not the Shingles)--when I was in Grade 3, I think.

I have four siblings, and when one of us got them, my mom put us all in one room so she could get them over with. The cool thing was I missed about three weeks of school.

I got the shingles just a few weeks ago. Yeah, it's basically Chicken Pox Strikes Back.

HVC, when we reach 50, we gotta get the shingles vaccine asap. That thing is dangerous for quality of life if not taking care of.

It basically kickstarted my 80 years old aunt demise.

I got varicella (chicken pox) as a child so that's a disease less to worry about.

Yes. Do it.
Trust me, it was three weeks of agony. I had mine on my chest, and even turning around in bed at night, as the sheets rubbed against my chest; it was agony.

I thought no but while much less likely, that seems a possibility, if remote.  :hmm:
Well, I guess the 50th birthday will be a celebration of medical exams, check-ups and vaccines.

T'es moins a riqsue de zona si tu as eu la varicelle, mais les douleurs sont tellement intenses que je recommande le vaccin a tout le monde d'emblee.
