Oh don't worry, they can. In Finland, the right-wing government promised to reduce debt and unemployment, but both of those have increased massively. And they are blaming it on the left-wing government that hasn't been in power for two years now.

The Left, out of power since 2010, has still been the official cause of all hardship in Hungary, thanks to their alliance with Brussels and other international money people wink wink.

But the situation is getting bad enough for people to start losing patience with the far right government.

So chin up, it will only take 15 years for bad policies, dismantling of the democratic state and rampant corruption to be felt in the polls.

Quote from: PJL on March 28, 2025, 05:38:54 PMSo when will the US annex Greenland? Not saying if as it's pretty much a near certainty at this point. Best case scenario is Denmark selling it to the US. Otherwise it looks like it could go to war. Probably will be this summer IMO.

Of course the main reason to get Greenland is to isolate Canada even further. The excuses re Russia/China are BS IMO. Expect Canada to be invaded next Spring. This will give the Trump admin an excuse to acquire wartime powers & suspend elections etc.

trump will definitely go for it by the time of the next state of the union, it'll be his little green mean in Crimea moment.

I think/hope that after Crimea little-green-men will get shot on sight, given what they represent.

Quote from: PJL on March 28, 2025, 06:59:34 PMRemember when Putin was going on about threatening to take Ukraine, many people thought it was just sabre rattling / 5D chess. Turns out he actually was serious about doing just that. Trump & co are doing the same thing with Greenland and ultimately Canada.

I'm convinced it was Putin himself who sold Trump on his multi-polar view of the world, and seeded the Panama, Canada and Greenland invasion ideas in the latter's mind.

We just blame immigrants and the EU in Norway.
Although, unemployment has not been lower since the 1950s.

That is a remarkable.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

None of the locals would agree to meet him or his wife.

I don't think there are many locals up by the Space Force base.

And a three-hour visit by a VIP to a military station is pretty normal.

I had read that there was supposed to be a separate meet the locals event by the Second Lady which was canceled due to lack of participants.
