I'm a bit unclear on the "greed" thing.  Did she rob a bank when I wasn't looking?

What does one have to do with another? The majority of greedy people have probably never committed a crime.

What examples of this "Greed" is there?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

36% of voters aged 18-29 say they'll either vote Johnson or Stein.  :hmm:

QuoteWith less than eight weeks before Election Day, Donald J. Trump and Hillary Clinton are locked in a tight contest, with both candidates still struggling to win the confidence of their respective bases, the latest New York Times/CBS News poll finds.

Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic nominee, has the support of 46 percent of likely voters nationwide, to 44 percent for Mr. Trump, the Republican, including those who said they were leaning toward a candidate. Looking more broadly at all registered voters, Mrs. Clinton holds a wider edge, 46 to 41 percent.

In a four-way race, Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton are tied at 42 percent each. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, has the support of 8 percent of likely voters, and the Green Party nominee, Jill Stein, takes 4 percent.

A career military man demonstrating acute contempt for civilian politicians?  Yeah, that never happens.

I find it puzzling / worrying that this is a trope frequently endorsed in fiction, too.

They think they're above the fray, holier than thou, my service is more important than your service, etc.  A common thingy in American history.

Hell, Ike was dismissive of JFK and Nixon.

Didn't both JFK and Nixon perform military service in WW2?

Yeah, they both served in the Pacific, IIRC. Nixon was some kind of military bureaucrat, but JFK did lead men on the field and got a bunch of medals, in fact I had the image that he was considered a bit of a war hero.

I think he might even have weaseled his way into a Purple Heart for something or other.
