Most Prime Ministers of Canada never spoke French.  Not that I would vote for such a person, personally, but that's the way it is.

I'm willing to change our HoS away from the British Royal Family but somethings are not negotiable.

Head of Government & Head of State must be separate.
Absolutely no actual power for the HoS.
Absolutely no elections, in any form, for the HoS.

The French and German system work relatively well, but they do not satisfy your non negotiable criterias

While it is possible, why take the risk that it might not work the way it does now.

I never figured your for a small c conservative 

small c conservative means a lot more than only making changes when there is a good reason to do so.  Radicals would say there are good reasons for the changes they want to make.

I believe change is warranted whenever you can improve on what is actually used.
It may or may not work, but it shouldn't stop from trying.

I did not say all of the system makes sense.

In Germany, I like the German's upper chamber that represents the regions.  Something that is working, contrary to our Senate.

The President being elected by the Bundestag serves in a similar way as our GG/LGs, but it's infinately more democractic than our actual system.

So far, the way I see it, only the Conservative Party offers respects&freedom to all the Canadians, including the French Canadians.

The LPC and the NDP just want to centralize everything in Ottawa, with all the good that has done to Quebec in the past, I'll pass.
