and how am I an extremist? All I want is for the parties to stop Measuring their dicks against each other and work together (in whatever coalition or frosty alliance they can feel comfortable with) and I'd like to see someone (Harper is the target because of my perception of him when I hear /see him speak... It has nothing to do with whether he's a con... my family are all cons (2 are MLAs even it's that he reeks of smarm, it's personal not political, that's just extra ammo, that my beliefs are mostly left of his.) who reflects my values in charge. How is that extreme?

I think we are reading different newspapers. Here they are all owned by Asper.

I don't willingly read either of Toronto's National papers.

:lmfao:

You are woefully behind the times.  Canwest declared bankruptcy and its assets were sold.  The Aspers don't own shit any longer.

and bought by those notorious socialists at Shaw? yeah.

  Try again.  Shaw bought the television assets, not the newspapers.

who bought the newspapers then smartypants? Chavez? (and btw I include TV/radio/internet in my definition of news. newspapers are no longer all there is)

All I'm saying is that I see more conservative bias in media stories than I do "liberal" (the most misused word in Canuck politics) bias, and no NDP bias unless it's an actual commie paper. I know that my own personal experience means absolutely nothing to anybody here. The only thing that seems to matter here are numbers. .

I just don't think you can say that the media is pro-Conservative when the most widespread media institution in the country hates Harper and the Conservatives unflinchingly and will stop at nothing to get him out of power.

Who's that? The Desmarais?

And you didn't say 'Asper owns the news'.  You said you didn't read newspapers, because "here they are all owned by Asper".

You're ignorance of such facts though is merely humerous,as it goes nicely with your vaivety of your views.  In my own reading some newspapers trend conservative, some trend liberal (and you're right, few other than the Toronto Star trend NDP), but it's simply silly to say they all support the conservatives.

You really think the Star trends NDP? I'd take them as more Liberal than anything else. In fact they will no doubt publish a Vote Liberal editorial the day or so before the election.

But of the 4 papers widely available in Toronto, I'd say there's a 50-50 split. The Toronto Sun and the National Post are Harper rags and the Globe and the Star are pro Iggy.

I don't read the Star much as you might guess, but I thought their editorial line was pretty hard left.  I will defer to your experience however.

The Star is indeed Liberal, and the Post Conservative. The Globe could go either way, while the Sun is hardly a newspaper at all.  ;)

There was a time when Le Soleil titled it self "Organe du Parti Libéral".

Maybe we should go back to doing that, it was atleast very clear.

It's liek the second to last page now. guess it's easier to find lol. Seriously though, reading the star is a pain in the ass. I stay away from the editorials, if that means anything

The Star is a brutal assult on intellect and non-emotive journalism.  Politically, I always found them somewhere between Liberal and NDP country.

LOL Malthus. You probably haven't seen the Sun in years (and who can blame you--I have to read all papers for work purposes) but the Sunshine Girl has been on the second last page for years....
