I ran a 10k in 55:40. I'm getting closer to my goal of under 50.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

That's already a pretty awesome time!

I've now lost 20lbs/9kg and finding running a lot easier. Which is just as well as I've embarked on a training plan for a half-marathon in October.

And I can now do 10 consecutive full push ups. Hey, I'm a girl!

I run the half-marathon 3 times a week.  :showoff:

Thanks, but that last 5:40 is going to be tough to drop.

Cecil and Brazen, my knees ache for both of you!  :P

Funny you should mention that. My bad left knee was the reason I started running. I got the advice of a footie coach that running was good for bad knees as strengthened legmuscles removes a lot of the pressure on the knee in your every day life. I was sceptical to say the least but he was right. In a month the pain was gone, though now I´m forced to keep running for the rest of my days.

You could take up cycling before you knacker you knees.  :P

That's what I did, though I never ran serious distances like you, just pick out a 5000 metre route around wherever I was living.

Oh how ironic, 24 hour later I come off my bike, and my left knee is really hurting, heard the sound of ripping has I hit the ground.  :(

I was lifting weights 3 days a week (the Stronglifts 5x5 program) for a few months. I stopped for a handful of months. I've started up again this week.

Hey, Fahdiz welcome back.

Keep up the good work.

I'm down 16 kg so far, or 35 lbs. Only 24 kg/53 lbs to go.

Though I've neglected my workout a bit recently.

Went for a evening spin on the bike around the Dorset countryside, did a bit over 42 miles before getting home just before sunset.

What I find odd, is just how few people there are at that time of day enjoying the countryside, I passed a few handfuls of cars and barely half a dozen people; what are they doing sitting at home watching tv, posting on the interwebs ?   :hmm:

Been jogging several times this week. I skipped today because my knee was feeling a little wobbly.
