Looking forward to the new series of Sunderland til I die (particularly as I'm a Charlton fan).
Is it actually a good series for outsiders?
I've tried watching the Leeds one too but couldn't get into it in the same way.
Yes. It's one of the best football series I've seen.
Let's bomb Russia!

Gups

Yeah, it's great. Anyone who likes football will enjoy it.

What if my Premier League team is Newcastle United (don't ask)?  :hmm:
You'll enjoy the pain and suffering of a second relegation season for Sunderland
You should support the true team of the people of the north east instead, rather than that big headed Chel$ki beta version. :p

Now that the American oligarch's team (Liverpool) has been fighting it out with the Arab oligarch's team (Man City), with the occasional good showing of other oligarchs' teams, perhaps it is time to get off Chelsea's back. :P Their oligarch looks rather cash poor in comparison.

For most people, Abramovich is just the one of many, many reasons to hate Chelsea.

Camerus

I've been enjoying HBO"s The Plot against America, based on the Philip Roth novel.

Charles Lindbergh becomes president in 1940 and attempts to usher in a fascist takeover.

It's basically a much tighter and more interesting Man in the High Castle so far.

Admiral Yi

Gave Tiger King about 15 minutes, got no boner.

Watching Curtiz, black and whiter about the making of Casablanca.

celedhring

Been watching For All Mankind. The show gets better as the season progresses. I wish there were more "cold war in space" bits in it - the show's Russians are some sly fuckers - but it's mainly a character drama. It tries to be Mad Men with rockets, but the writing is often too on the nose and generic - and it doesn't help that I really can't take Joel Kinnaman seriously as a dramatic lead. Again, it's pretty watchable if you like the setting and the show does grow as episodes go by.

The show's premise is that the Soviets get to the Moon first in 1969, so the space race doesn't end and it keeps going strong in the 1970s, which means some decent space porn (
moon bases
!
sea-launched super-rockets
!)

I also tried watching See on Apple +. Good production values, somewhat interesting, but after a while the whole premise of the show just seems so utterly silly. The huge inconsistencies also got to me. Like, why is the main baddy pierced? Why are their clothes coloured? Why, after a few hundred years living blind in tiny communities on the edge of extinction are there still mixed-race villages?

I think we're talking of different shows, unless Alexei Kosygin is revealed to have a Prince Albert in an episode I haven't yet seen.

The Brain

Finished Tiger King. I was entertained. One of the big surprises was
the quality of his singing.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.
