Where do I enter said code?

http://www.startrekonline.com

No, really.  There's a box on the right hand side, mid way down the page, that says "enter code".
It's just fucking retarded that you can't enter your code on your account page.

It's a shame they don't have rank designations for the TWOK uniforms. :(

I should say it's a bug for some missions, but better safe then sorry. According to the forum and my experience with Kinjer

Were you in beta?  I'm just wondering if you're referring to the bug in Kinjer during beta that made the game ignore mission completion there...
no, i got in live and it's still around. once i hit level 5(?) i redid it and i got my completed mission. Same thing would happen on th eUna part of that patrol. wouldn't let you complete unless you were at the level of the mission.

How'd you get the title?

Katmai tells me it was awarded to forum members when STO hit #1 on MMORPG.com

Do not know. I think it was sometime in October.

Played some more last night.

The ship-ship combat can be pretty tedious. Doesn't have much of a tactical feel to it at all. Just shootshootoshootoshoottshoootturntheotherwayshootshootshootshoootturntheotherwayshootshoootshhoooooootblowuptargetnextshipshooot..."

How tactical do you want it to be?  I for one would find it to be more tedious if each starship battle lasted 30+ minutes ala SFB.

And as mentioned before, these are the very early levels.  As you gain more abilities, gain more (and varied) equipment, you have far more choices to make if how you conduct space combat.  But the first 10 levels, when everyone is in a virtually identical Miranda class ships, there isn't so much.

But if you don't like the game that's fine.  Different strokes for different folks.

I do have the feeling that I should spend more time figuring out ground combat.  My away team seems to just randomly mill around.  However I just sit there with my sniper rifle and I don't think I've lost a ground combat yet.

I can imagine that an away team with 5 players, where you can actually co-ordinate your strategy, could be a lot of fun.

I want it to involve me making choices based on the situation, with differing strategies depending on what is going on, how I have armed my ship, who I am fighting, etc., etc.

I want it to involve more than flying in a circle pressing the spacebar, with the occasional launch of a torp when in arc.

Perhaps this is just because it is early in the game. Is it? Does it get better, or is it just a variant on the same?

Good! Can you give me some examples?

Well I'm still pretty early on myself (Lt 8), so I'm still in the basic ship myself.

But for example, I've outfitted my ship with quantum torpedoes, which have a much bigger punch, but longer reload time (so DPS is actually slightly lower than the photon torpedo I replaced it with).  However my tactical bridge officer has an ability to do a double-charge of torpedoes (but it has a 30 sec reload time).  So anyways, if I can time my quantum torps to a time when the enemy shield is down, and use that tactical ability, I can do a substantial amount of damage to the ship, often destroying smaller ships completely from 100% to 0.

And I imagine once you get tractor beams, jamming sensors, and what not a lot of other strategies come into play.

FWIW, I tend not to "fly in circles" myself.  Once I engage the enemy I reduce speed to 25-50%, let the enemy close to me.  That way I can do all the damage to their front shield, and can sometimes finish them off by the time they reach me.  All of my damage is done to the front as well, but I hit 'power to forward shields" and count on doing more damage to them than they do to me.

My Science BO ability is Placate for 9 seconds. For 9 seconds, it jams the targets sensors. Effectively jamming then.

Too bad it has a 2min cooldown.

Nifty ability, imo.

I have the same ability.  It's useful, but I haven't figured out a specific way to work it into any other strategy.
