It's not obvious to me.  Please explain your reasoning.

Members of the government including Netanyahu himself saying that they want to take control of Gaza and relocate the population elsewhere. It's pretty obvious when they themselves confirm it.

How do you get from there to not caring about the hostages?

Do you have a link for Netanyahu saying he wants to relocate the population?

Then Hamas could really undermine Israel by simply releasing the hostages and exposing Israeli perfidy to the whole world.  I wonder why they don't.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Because they are assholes don't care about Gazans suffering any more than the Israeli government does? Not sure what your point is here.

Seems like it would be more than that.  I'm an asshole, and I don't hold any hostages.

Two members of the Israeli staff were assassinated in Washington DC

QuoteWASHINGTON (AP) — Two staff members of the Israeli embassy were shot and killed Wednesday evening while leaving an event at a Jewish museum in the nation's capital, and the suspect and yelled "free, free Palestine" after he was arrested, police said.

The two victims, a man and a woman, were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum when the 30-year-old suspect approached a group of four people and opened fire, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said at a news conference.

The suspect was observed pacing outside the museum before the shooting, walked into the museum after the shooting and was detained by event security, Smith said.

When he was taken into custody, the man began chanting, "free, free Palestine," Smith said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said she was at the scene with former judge Jeanine Pirro, who serves as the U.S. attorney in Washington.

Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, called the shooting a "depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism."

"We are confident that the US authorities will take strong action against those responsible for this criminal act," Danon said in a post on X. "Israel will continue to act resolutely to protect its citizens and representatives — everywhere in the world."

Go ahead. No one seems to care overly much when it happens. People tut tut Russia and their poison umbrellas, but nothing much gets done. no one cared when India ordered the deaths of Canadian citizens or the numerous times israel blew people up. Hell zoupa just posted about a ex Ukrainian politician getting offed in front of his kids school, did you dry your tears over that guy already?

I thought you Canadians objected to the murder of their citizens by the Indians.  I am surprised to find out you were cool with it.  The Brits weren't exactly cool with Russia killing their people.  I think they sanctioned Russia.  Anyway, this seems to be a guy from Chicago.  Rumor is that he's part of PSL.

Canadians did, but no one else. Hell sheilbh even said it's a sign India is at the big boy table now lol. Let's just say I'm not overly impressed with your Stalin-isc view on tragedy. 10 of thousands of civilians killed? Meh it's war. But you seem much more concerned by the deaths of these two.

What bizarre logic.  People are dying in another country so I shouldn't get offended when people get murdered in my own?  Tens of thousands of civilians died in the Afghan war, but I think you would object if someone started slaughtering Canadians in retaliation.  Do I value the lives of people who are my allies over that of people who are hostile to me?  Yeah.  Most people do that.  I would also object if someone from Afghanistan or Yemen started slaughtering Canadians, as you are our allies and friends.  I value your life higher than I do the Houthis and the Taliban.  I value the lives of the Ukrainians over the Russians.  This is Stalinism, it's just normal human behavior.

This story appeared on Facebook for me.  I will quote the top comments

It has fingerprint of mossad

Angie Huffman Tripp
Wow. The homeland isn't very secure it sounds like.

Abdi Mohamud
Given Mossad's long history of covert operations often pinned on others, it wouldn't surprise me if they staged these shootings to gain sympathy and boost support for Netanyahu as his backing in the West fades.

Tem Bues
Where they Mosad Agents

Ramy Abed
It is nothing compared to what was killed in Gaza

Shawn Scheiwe

Just a day after Canada, France, and UK had some observations regarding their unrelenting, and unconditional support to Israel's atrocities in Gaza. Seems a little too suspicious. This seems too obvious not to be an inside job. It is not like they haven't done it before. Praying for the families and anyone who was affected by this senseless act.

And so on.

Here's a quote from Netanyahu in Jerusalem Post:

https://m.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/article-853568

Quote"We are destroying more and more homes, they have nowhere to return to. The only inevitable outcome will be the desire of Gazans to emigrate outside of the Gaza Strip," Netanyahu stated.

Deliberately destroying homes so residents cannot return and you can take control of the area sure sounds like forcible relocation/ethnic cleansing.

crazy canuck

Yeah, Netanyahu has already been charged with committing war crimes, and now he is all in.
