Brian Williams of NBC News is catching shit for fibbing about being downed by enemy fire in Iraq.  Turns out his helicopter was 35 minutes behind a chopper that went down.

I saw that and think that he does deserve a rash of shit. It would be one thing if he "misspoke" once but it is something he has done on several occasions.

That was a pretty elaborate story if it's the one I'm thinking of.

I don't think that matters, the key point is they skewered the numbers to make it look like traffic was more danger per km, than cycling or even walking. They did this buy using 1 billion km for cars and per 100,000 km for the other two. As it is driving is say 6-8 times 'safer' than the other two.

I don't think you're getting AR's point.  He's implying that certain types of statistics are omitted because they run counter to the general theme, which is that Germany is safer than US in every way.  He's implying that statistics are abused while making that point.

I recently visited an investor who manages more than a trillion dollars.

I'll tell you the answer: ZERO sectors in the economy are moving
toward more full-time workers. Everything is either being cut back,
moved toward outsourcing out of the country, or hiring temp workers.
And this goes not just for low-paid industrial workers, but middle managers, computer programmers, accountants, lawyers, and even senior executives.
