Oh another possible weird Anglicism for Yi. 'This bus is on diversion' - or is that universal?
Let's bomb Russia!

Admiral Yi

Not universal.  We would say "The bus is sat."

Sheilbh

What does that mean though? On diversion means it's being diverted

I assume it means the bus has been rerouted from its normal line.

Did you read the "how English are you test" thread?

Who are the "we" in this context?  I have never heard of that when travelling anywhere in the US.

In this context, we is absolutely no one.

QuoteSeems sort of in-line with the whole "Where are you from? Where are your parents from? No, but really where are you from?" type questioning. Again not an injustice just tiring.
"Do you speak any other languages?"  is a nice race-free way to weedle your way to sating such curiosities 70% of the time. :smarty:

This is not an "aggression."  Deal with it, Eugene Levy.
1: Levy, lol.
2: Yeah, wtf? Sounds like an honest mistake. Were his name something less common than fair enough but Rodriguez? That's up there with Garcia in the cliched latin name stakes.

"I'm tired of everyone always assuming my last name is "Levy" because I'm a Jew. That's a total stereotype."

"Oh, what's your name then?"

"Goldstein".

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Damn, garbon has really let himself go.

Yeah, it must be bad if he's not bothering with fancy hair colours anymore.  ;)
