Got into Denver International last evening just as it was getting dark.  It was snowing and on the edge of freezing, but being a hardy Wyomingite I headed out.  The roads weren't too bad, as long as I took it slow. 

Coloradans weren't taking it slow, and I learned that Dodge Chargers don't do well on icy roads - I saw three of them off the side.  My little Honda chugged into Cheyenne a couple of hours later and I turned for the last 40 miles to Laramie.  That took me 2 and a half hours, and I saw another 5 or 6 off the road with flashing lights.

Winter in Wyoming is wonderful.

I miss real winters.
Everywhere I've lived in Japan the winters always have a very dry cold so they're just...cold and unpleasant. No snow.
The crappy construction of Japanese houses doesn't help either.

I've yet to get around to visiting but from what I've heard I really wouldn't mind Sapporo. Elsewhere in Hokkaido though....It would give new meaning to boring countryside.
