Patty Hearst?

According to the wiki article, it happens in 27% of kidnapping/hostage cases.

Procrastination season is upon me. Paper due on Friday and for some reason I think it's better to just stare at the screen than to look stuff up.

Heh, I know that feeling. But then I wind up feeling worse the more I put something off since it will need to get done anyway. Then I feel better when I finish it.  :)  But yeah, doing papers over and over gets tiresome and tedious, so procrastination and zoning out are good breathing space once in a while.

It's probably recorded in Sweden.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I thought that's where Finlandization came from.

Watching a show now that has some rape and Stockholm syndrome as part of the plot.

From an evolutionary standpoint, how often do you think rape was the main method of procreation, and do you think Stockholm syndrome evolved as a survival technique for women?

You can see the survival impact. That's pretty obvious. I've been thinking about why these cases tend to be women and school shooters tend to be male.

There has to be a reason for that.

I haven't really studied Stockholm syndrome.

So apparently, a shotgun, a bottle of brandy, and one shotgun shell is an inappropriate gift for my brother.

Doesn't seem like, from your descriptions, he could handle all that.
