You cheering about the nearly solid burgundy in the third graph? :yeahright:
Fixating on the rate of change is one of the biggest fallacies.  Absolute level matters too.  Would you rather live on Long Island or in North Dakota?

Put Korea instead of Dakota and I'll at least have to think about it.

Easy choice.

Breaking local news in Dorset:
QuoteFirefighters called to rescue cow

6:39pm Sunday 15th December 2013 in News

FIREFIGHTERS were called to what was originally reported as a cow stuck in mud.

Retained crews from Bridport together with a crew from Poole trained in large animal rescues have been alerted to a location near Loders where the animal is reported to be stranded.

It was first thought the animal was stuck in mud within a stream but it now appears it has crossed the water and is stuck on a bank.

The owner is being contacted to help free the animal.

I think it was originally reported as stuck in mud.

She crawled into the blankets that I plan on throwing away because they unbalance my washing machine.  Aside from the fact that in her four years I've never seen her actually crawl underneath any kind of sheet for more than a few seconds, she arranged herself in such an unbelievably cute manner that I'm wondering if she knows she's cute.  That calls into question the whole enterprise! :o

Watching a show now that has some rape and Stockholm syndrome as part of the plot.

From an evolutionary standpoint, how often do you think rape was the main method of procreation, and do you think Stockholm syndrome evolved as a survival technique for women?

You can see the survival impact. That's pretty obvious. I've been thinking about why these cases tend to be women and school shooters tend to be male.

There has to be a reason for that.

I'm not sure the two phenomena are related.
