I have a strange desire to reread the Lord of the Rings.  I haven't read it since middle school (which was about 15 years ago).
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I re-read them about 2 years ago - the first time since around the same age.  It was a great re-read.

What's strange about this? Just don't forget how dull part 4 feels compared to parts 3 and 5.

Wait how old were you 2 years ago?

He was 33.
The same age Jesus was when he read The Lord of the Rings.

I read LOTR when a teenager and then again about a year before the first movie came out (Fellowship came out in what? 2001?).

It's much better. I no longer download anything on the mac partition, since I'd have to use Azureus.
uTorrent runs quietly and minimally in the background. Its great.

I last read them not long before the first movie came out (the first time, too). I've reread the Hobbit at least once since then, but when I tried to reread FotR, I got bored and stopped around Tom Bombadil.
