I'm on 16. I've been thinking this is a big slower with loading on some games like total war but always been disuaded from upgrading.

I'm not doing pro level editing, just dabbling with after effects and google earth studio for myself*, but yeah. Computer always shouting at me about not enough cache et al.

*trying to actually do something with my life. Have an idea for a few bits of local interest nerdiness ala all the stuff out there about urban development in London you see.

Yeah, get more ram.

It's a bad time to upgrade CPU/motherboard right now. And there's a chance it won't improve performance.

So iirc...
I have DDR4-3200
It's useless buying anything better than that as it always speeds down to the lowest right?
No value to having a higher speed pair to go with this pair?

And is ram typically transferable these days when I do get around to upgrading? I remember it used to be the rule there were a bazillion types and they probably wouldn't work with a new mb.

It depends how long you wait to upgrade but DDR5 already exists.

Get 32gb of the fastest speed your motherboard/cpu support

Random thought - is there a more famous/prominent Manxman than Mark Cavendish?

I was wondering about this earlier and the only person I could come up with is Ken Dodd (who I think only lived there for tax purposes) - so I feel like Cavendish wins. I can't think of anyone else :hmm:

I've never heard of Mark Cavendiish so this might be a short conversation.

I do know Harry Vardon was from Jersey.  :)

The Gibb brothers were from Man, iirc.

Mess with the glorious integrity of the game?! How dare you! :P

Any particular game you were watching that brought this on? Was it the Rangers game?
