I live in suburbia, with wooded areas close and around the neighborhood. On the other side of the fence at the end of my street, is a Colonial Pipeline property, we have had deer right on the other side of that fence.
I was so temped.

Your kidding right?

Are you guys telling me that American Deers visit suburbian?
It depends how you define 'suburbia'... I live in what I would call a rural area but I live in a subdivision, just one with very large lots.  We have deer in the yard all the time.  This time of year I see them at least once a week.  Also, I think those sonofabitches ate most of the apples off of my Pink Lady tree.

It seems like the litmus test is "Would you hunt/let others hunt on it?"

Yeah, she's a sweetie pie.  A total spaz that wants to herd the cat, but a sweetie pie.
Very intelligent--when you pull out her harness, she sits, bows her head so you can put it on, and lifts each leg for the straps--and just wants to be with people all the time.

D'awwwhhh :)

Yeah even if I had property like that, I wouldn't want them on it.

No, still too close to other houses IMO.

My garden is performing a subpar level. Lack of sun is the main suspect. Trees will problably get trimmed or the garden will be relocated next year.

That's kind of my problem.  In my back yard there's just too much shade.  If I plant something that does get enough sun, my deer are certain to eat it.  They even ate a Colorado Spruce I planted

Note to self:  see if there's such a thing as deer traps.

I've been using this sprinkled in the flower beds this year. Works great so far.

Rural = small towns and villages, not just countryside. Though in Cal's case it's probably an exurb.

There is supposedly a black bear lurking near where I live. It gets over the wall, I'm opening up on it with the SKS.

Meh, we had one sleeping in our front yard for a few nights a couple years ago.  We worked out a routine.  When it was time for me to get to work I would open the front door - clap my hands to wake it up and it would move on down the road.  One morning it was a little slow on the concept so I set off the car alarm and that got it moving.
