They should have made a Cornwall v Calabria comparison instead.
They're both similarly shaped, godforsaken appendices populated by unintelligable smugglers and brigands. Oh, and you can get there by train.

"Italy in winter is like Cornwall in summer!"

Fake news! No summer in Cornwall!  :P

Let's not turn this into a slamming Cornwall thread :P

Why would the Romans call Cornwall the western land?

It looks good in a 1907 ad.  :P

Oh, I don't doubt it, in fact I'd say that it's the part of England I'd more like to visit if I could. I've been to Devon already, but didn't have any time for touristing.

Its the indoors outdoors!
Any warmer and you're heading into the torrid climes. Land unsafe for human civilization.

I fear that your internal thermostat is permanently warped due to you having been raised in the North of England.  :P

 Actually Cornwall is very mild all year round because oceans. So it's summers are a lot less warm than other bits of the South, but very sunny

Already speaking to friend in Cornwall about maybe visiting later this year (still feels a little safer than planning an overseas trip).

I still remember this one time I visited a mate in London in december. We were in a bus stop on a saturday evening freezing our balls off, all wrapped in coats, scarfs, gloves and beanies, and right in front of us a bus stopped and from it a bevy of girls in short dresses and high heels drinking from cans of beer came down screaming "Partyyyyyyy!".

I do have a permanent thermostat battle with wor lass and her fiery daemon-tainted Italian blood.

Now that BC has bent the curve back down I am off for a hair cut.  I had one in 2020 and that was six months ago, so it is time for my biannual haircut  :D

DGuller

Good thing I had the foresight to start going bald 15 years ago to prepare for the inevitable pandemic.

We are some way from things being re-opened and if I push my fringe down it's already at my nose
