I'm off to Valletta in May.

Malta is lovely and May is a great time to visit, you'll have a great time.

But they are basically all major cities.

Yeah, OK.  Didn't grow up in a household with fucking tapestries of pre-Industrial Barcelona lying around.

Fucking map snobs.

I did  :nerd:

Just got new fibre internet installed.  I'm now hitting 170 MBS upload and download. :nerd:

On cable I was stuck at 25 MBS.

I got fiber last week myself, too. It's "just" 60 Mbps up/down but compared to my previous DSL (6 mbps) is like night and day.

I live in a somewhat remote suburban neighborhood and we are way down in the list of ISP's priorities for upgrading service...

Was today 'National Repair Stuff Day' and I missed the memo?

Days starts with me dropping a playing mp3 player into a glass of water, so took it apart, left it to dry, got home, put it back together and it worked.

Couple of bits of running repairs on the bike whilst I was out, also the rear light stopped working, so once home cleaned off the mud, took it apart, cleaned the switches, got it working.

Also found some broken electronics whilst looking for my soldering iron, found two sets of headphones, repaired them, one was crap sounding, but the other I got working was my favourite Senns PX100.

Then wasted an hour trying to repair an ancient Casio organiser, why did I squander an hour on that? :hmm:

Anyway, not sure I should turn on any white goods or major electrical things in case they break and require yet more repair effort.  <_<

My Dad is back in the hospital.  I believe this is the fourth time this year.  He had been at a rehabilitation site, but they weren't doing a very good job.  He appears to have some form of Edema and is swelling up.  The underlying cause is likely some sort of heart problem.  They had previously said it was not congestive heart failure, but now maybe it is. :(
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It annoys me how far behind airline booking sites are.
All I want is a flight to Japan with a long stop over in China.
They always assume I want the shortest stop over possible and no way to change unless I do a multi city flight which doubles the cost. :(

Do you know why China is special?
