I guess I am jaded enough now that my first thought was "I wonder how much their payoff/bribe will have to be?"

QuoteFTC sues Zillow and Redfin, alleging antitrust violation in online rental listings

The Federal Trade Commission is suing real estate giants Zillow and Redfin, alleging the two illegally conspired to reduce competition in the online multifamily rental listing market.

I'm fancying STMicroelectronics as a 'next Rolls Royce'- low downside, potentially great upside.
Thoughts?

Apart from bagholding my near-worthless weed stocks, I'll try to keep myself to buying ETFs. not individual stocks. Dropping my Intel stocks at $24 just hurts every time I look at its current price. Who needs this.

I'm getting close to dumping my AI-bubble-adjacent stocks.  Not looking forward to the long-term CG taxes though on my AAPL, MSFT and AMAT holdings though.  They've been good over the years.  :(

Just look forward to buying them back cheap once the bubble pops.

While Canadian oriented and tailored for a tax free account everyone should buy the ETF TSE:XEQT.

Yes. I've been thinking this way. I just know if I do that I'll miss out on a huge rise.
My RR success has made me greedy.

No tax for me though. Mostly kept in an Isa.

Mine are all behind the ISA wall now. Which is great, no need to fill a tax return and no taxes to pay. I occasionally take out some of the dividends for exceptional expenses but otherwise expect to leave the portfolio to my family, so I'm still going long despite my age.

I have a number of stocks in a Roth IRA (so also no tax exposure)...but not these ones.  :(

Valmy

Quote from: Admiral Yi on October 28, 2025, 02:28:11 PMNvidia just passed 200.

Nvidia stock market value: 5 Trillion dollars.

GDP of India: 4.13 Trillion dollars.

Now maybe I am a bad capitalist but if given the choice between ownership of every good and service produced by India in an entire year or Nvidia I think the combined economic production of 1.4 billion people has more value.

This is getting absurd.

Valmy has become:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Valmy

Damn right. I would prefer to conquer India than a pile of computer chips.

Market cap is a stock, GDP is a flow.  Apples and oranges.

Flow multiplied by a period of time is a stock, though.  :nerd:
