Speaking of methane...I've heard no progress lately on plugging that Turkmenistan pit. Should really be a priority.

In case you've not seen it before-

For the 2nd afternoon in a row we've had a grass fire in the meadows here, firemen doing a sterling job, but even so, welcome to the new tinder dry future.  <_<

Well needless to say no danger of drying out here this summer  :(

It has been very weirdly wet and "cool" for a central Texas summer. It sort of reminds me of how Summers used to be here in the 1980s, hot but not crazy hot and crazy humid, just with biblically torrential downpours.

That's God's warning to listen to scientists.  But will the Texans hear it...

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

Yep, that's the worry, this can still get a lot more desiccated and the soil turn to dust. :P

*edit* although I assume they don't include China in these rankings
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Last I saw 42% of Texans still do not believe human caused Climate Change is happening. A subset of that seems to believe this is all being caused by chem trails and storm seeding and Democrat controlled weather machines though. So at least they notice something bad is happening.

We've been getting Florida-esque afternoon thunderstorms pretty much every afternoon here in Virginia.
