Nobody here gives a shit. Tons of people in the United States are completely unaware we have this little empire with Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Marianas. They might only be aware that we own American Samoa because it is called American Samoa. So many people think Puerto Ricans are immigrants when they are American Citizens.

Sort of like how Republicans would try to get everybody outraged about Carter turning over the Canal Zone back in the old days. It just fell flat. Most of us did not know or care we ever owned part of Panama.

Nobody celebrates or cares about William McKinley for conquering the Philippines. This is not something any Americans want or are interested in. The only reason we have a bunch of morons wanting to annex Greenland is because Trump is talking about it. If we were to annex Greenland, virtually the second Trump goes away or switches to another topic nobody here would remember we did that.

Every Ukrainian immigrant I've known has been fabulous.

I have nothing against Somalis (to pick one example) coming to Canada, but they do generate a lot of my files.  Understandable given the shitshow of that country.

But we should take every Ukrainian we can get.
