I wonder if the flags on the backdrop represents the competing nations. I spotted both China and Japan in there, and of course Quebec.

Overview of teams:

I like how the captain of the Japanese team is a white dude

Anyhow, it appears that  the flags on the backdrop do not indicate that a team is represented.

The Austrian team, meanwhile, features a Joji Ishikawa.

The 5 vs. 5 battles are much easier to follow than the 21 vs 21 ones..

And another Italian (or the same as yesterday?) knocked out.

Unfortunately, the Japanese use European armor. :(

If they used Japanese style armour they'd get utterly trounced.

Syt

They could probably go for some sort of Kendo armor variant.

Thanks. Just getting up. Did I miss much? I'll watch it all later on replay, but anything that I should watch for?
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

Syt

I'm drifting in and out. :P

Currently the subgroup with America 3 competing. I'm guessing some of the Americans used to play football? They seem to tackle a bit more than other teams.

Not to my knowledge, no, but I don't know them all.

I wish there was a running tally sheet somewhere.

We'll see a lot more teams today. There were a lot that were too small for the 21 vs 21.

Germany against Italy is up now, Syt. :D

Austria was decimated by Russia.

I LOVE Germany's uniforms! The dags absolutely make the tunics.

That was a hard fight. Well done both teams.

Russia and USA after this series.
