For those of you concerned about Parliamentary supremacy you might want to reflect on the fact that it was Parliament which passed the legislation giving the Minister of Health this kind of discretion and if Parliament wishes to remove that discretion then it can do so.

And then the Supreme Court will simply rule that the government is required to provide the Minister of Health with this kind of discretion, or else they'll violate the Charter Rights of druggies and lawyer scum.  There is no defence against the Supreme Court, and they must be eliminated and replaced with a 'Law Lords' arrangement in the Senate.

You didn't read the opinion, or you would have seen that Insite consistently refers people to rehab, and that one of the individual claimants credited Insite with getting her on methadone treatment.

I have zero tolerance for drug users.  From marijuana to heroin, it's all the same.

If you're going to equate marijuana with heroin, why not just go ahead and crucify all the smokers and drinkers too?  Really viper, that's just sad.

The Supreme Court has nothing to do with law.

Besides, why would I know anything about the law?  You cunts have made it as arcane as possible in an effort to insert yourselves into everyones lives.  A good, honest person who minds his own business and avoids criminal gangs and drugs has no reason to trouble himself with your priesthood.

if one his poor due to his drug consumption, let's treat him for his addiction, let's not provide him with free needles, shelter, and possibly drugs (I don't believe for a minute that an addict in need of his fix will be left of to fend for himself).

You still need funding for the building.  For the regular staff, for the nurses.  For the needles.  The any kind of medical supplies you may need.

In Montreal, they had such a site (they still do, but they do not let themselves shoot there for now).  They specifically do not refer people to rehab, unless they specifically ask for this.

Smokers could burn in hell, ideally, being smoked on a bbq for all eternity.

Drinkers do in fact do all of those things (see Edmonton docket court every day of the week).

If other Provinces wish to obtain the exemption from the Federal Health Minister they will likely have to bring themselves within the same factual matrix of insite.  Since the fact that rehab was part of the health rationale in this case if another site did not try to refer people to rehab then the Federal Minister would likely not grant the exemption.
