Sorry to hear that.  Against the backdrop of this US / Iran crisis it is so hard to believe in random mechanical failure.  Whatever the cause there are families, friends, and neighbors in our communities and communities abroad that are in real pain and will hopefully receive honest answers about what happened to their loved ones.

So Trudeau poked the idiots down South again, for no reason.

Trudeau claiming that the US had some culpability for escalating tensions which led to the downing of the plane is sound.  But why do it with this President and spineless Republican party?

The response back was, as one would expect, full of factual errors.  But that just reinforces the question - why do it?  This president and the Republicans who keep him in power are not going to say "good point".  They were always going to respond this way.

I think it likely he just got his lines mixed up.  This morning the Minister of the Enviornment (an MP from my riding which has a very large expat Iranian community) was interviewed about the tragedy.  He did not mention the Americans once.  His whole emphasis was on finding out all the facts about the tragedy.  If there was a strategic decision to blame the US, the minister would have added that to his comments.
