Walking Dead- I'm unfamiliar with the comic and only have regular zombie law to go on but....that one that walked into the motorhome was way too aware and actively hunting. Weird. They were quite agile jumping over the fence after the little girl too.
And why did the hillbillie put his arm in front of the zombie before stabbing it? eww to the body kissing. heh.
Zombies in church was just odd. Though kinda consistant I guess with Romero stuff.
The ending was out of nowhere and quite unrelated.
Overall it was thoroughly meh. Just looking for the girl and failing.

It seems to me with WD they're trying to do something cheap and cheerful.

Walking dead zombies are like romero zombies who operate on instinct but they have some degree of trainability and possibly some level of memory. There are examples of tame zombies who have been acclimatized to an "owner" and held on a leash, but there is an example of the opposite. It does need to be said, however, that no zombie in the comic has displayed the level of apparent intelligence that was shown by the zombie in the RV.

The comic does focus a lot on keeping silent and not using guns. They do like their melee weapons.

I can appreciate that for TV they can make the zombies more threatening and dangerous for some drama every episode. A little girl freaking out and running is not in the too stupid to live class, but letting ben tag along was; you'd think the kid was freaked out as well and followed his well armed daddy's instructions to the letter. There have been significant plot deviations from the comic, I'm fine with that since it means they can highlight characters that work and kill off characters that don't as well as keeping me guessing.

The plot in this episode was a bit contrived, but still not a challenge to my willing suspension of disbelief. It's not like it's raping the zombie genre like the family dramas of Falling Skies and Terra Nova did to alien invasions and the land that time forgot.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I noticed there was a talk show, dedicated to this episode of the Walking Dead.  Seriously, I think our American friends are a little to fond of their talk shows...

Finally watched Kick-Ass.  It's actually pretty great, although the jetpack was pretty ridiculous.
I believe jetpacks are obtainable.

Oh, sure, and I like how they set it up, but afaik they have a limited flight time, especially with the weight he was carrying, and I suspect the recoil from a pair of rotary guns would be all but impossible to manage.

I'm pretty sure people wear that outside of porn.

Yes, outside the pron studio when they are taking a smoke break.

I've seen people wearing similar clothing.  Not at my porn studio.

You should invite Caliga round to your porn studio, he might enjoy it. Though you might want to work on your porn literacy if you have a pron studio.

If I did have a porn studio, I would be happy to play host to any Languishite, but I have to think Cal would be a little disappointed with the kind of films I would shoot.  We have pretty much diametrically opposite tastes in women.

Yes, yes, very funny.  You know, yesterday I refrained from making a joke about the reason you'd visited Quebec but never slept there is because Grallon kicked you out of the house. :P

If I were XX?  Unlikely.  My sister is pretty, for one thing; and just based on my own appearance, I suspect I would be quite attractive--I'm below average weight and have narrow shoulders and high cheekbones.

Now, that said, I do have rather unruly hair, which I shave, and that wouldn't be an option as a woman.
