 Bravo!

I am enjoying this immensely. Who's up next?

I think we're back to Solmyr.

Just for fun, I decided to play a little longer to see when the next attack would come and how the military would deal with it.

Sure enough, ~15 Goblins ended up arriving to besiege the place.  What ensued when the assorted, heavily-trained Champions and marksdwarfs got there was something close to rape :

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Did you make me a tomb? I was so busy preparing the defenses of the fort I didn't have time to make a proper one.

Habbaku

No tomb was made for you as it would not be fitting of Dwarfkind to construct a tomb for a previous administrator unless they have met an unfortunate accident at some point.  At least, that is the opinion of the First Mayor, who will not oppose the creation of one by a subsequent overseer.

Heh Habs, you picked Tosid, the guy who adopts all the kittens in the fortress? :P

Habbaku

When the fortress inevitably collapses, it is I who will have all the food in convenient pet form.

That is assuming you don't end up as food yourself.

Anyway, HMBob is taking a turn?

Solmyr

Heh, took a look at the save. Poor Jaron is lying in bed with a bruised spine. Also, some fucker filled my room with engravings of cheese (the symbol of our dwarven civ), elves, goblins killing humans, and Habbaku's election. <_<

We have a quantum artifact, apparently. Frozennourished the Excavated Tundras, an alunite mechanisms that has on it, among other things, an image of itself (it also has an image of a dog laughing as it kills a dwarf).

My beautiful statue!

Now adorns my tomb.  We honor our ancestors, you know.

I'd rather not have a statue of Jaron above my grave, but to each his own.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
