I created this Poll mostly so I could say "Roman Polanski of Squid demons".  Anyway there are worse Poles on Languish.

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I had the obligatory anime phase in high school, but since then, I really haven't watched any.  Only one I've particularly liked since that phase was The Big O because of all the film noir styling, and a plot that could be made sense of with a rewatch or two.

Admiral Yi

Watched about 20 minutes of some flick where the good guys travel around in a big armored dirigible and battle the bad guys (in their bigger armored dirigible).  The style of drawing really turns me off.

Last Exile? Certainly Range Murata has got a peculiar style...

Admiral Yi

Could be.  The good guys had elite flying lancers that the 8 year old protagonist joined.  And some dorky robot.

Definitely not Last Exile then; last Exile's protagonist is not an 8 year old, and there is no dorky robot in the series. Last Exile is actually a fairly serious Science Fiction piece, with one of the wierdest worlds I've come across in the genre.

Sounds like your series is something aimed more at kids than teenagers or young adults.

Last Exile is an excellent series.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

It sounds to me like he's talking about Castle in the Sky. There's a mute robot with kinda misshapen proportions, and the protagonist has a voice way too old and deep for how his body is drawn.

Last Exile was pretty good.  Very slow going beginning, some parts I disagreed with, but the last several episodes are killer.

I have endeavored to create a fair and non-biased poll.  It starts at the top for anime fans and at the bottom is for haters like me.
I don't like your poll options.

What ever is the problem with them?

They're mostly too extreme.

Agreed.

Mr.Penguin

Last Exile was the last anime serie I saw, otherwise as I been dry...

But yes it was quite good, still have a thing for Range Murata's art...

Really, everyone should.

It looks like I may have to tolerate anime in the future though.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Why is that?  What has made you tolerate that which before you could not?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.
