I'm shocked british libraries haven't sold off all their books for more booze.

British libraries tend to have a little Manga, but they really love American comic books.

So, who do you think is hotter, Betty or Veronica?

Peter, don't do this to me...you know that everyone around here calls me an "anime-tard".

[Wonder if they'd be surprised to know that I have some X-Men on the shelf, and as a kid and now I still love Transformers comics...]

The worst of it is is that those two names are familiar to me as a pair, but I cannot place the context without looking it up - please remind me.

My appreciation for anime is well documented. I'd have voted for the first option, were it not for the ridiculous nature of its phrasing.

I am not the wordsmith that sav is but I think I captured the spirit.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Zoupa does, and Duque de Bragança too. And I think some of the others showed some understanding of it.
Neil can speak french ;)
And I have some understanding of it too.

QuoteOne of the reasons she disappeared at first because she was deemed too sexual for a children's comic.
Since they killed off the ecstasy popping red headed nympho with the shaved pubes, you're back to the Betty and Veronica choice.

Well, as I don't read Archie I can't verify if she is still around or not, but -

QuoteThe character was eventually reintroduced in the main continuity and back into Archie Andrews' life during the "Love Showdown" four-part series in 1994.

Oh, and for those who appreciate the bande dessinée francophone, there are many french-japanese fusions of the two genres.

One of the latest is "Valérian et Laureline",  anime version directed by Philippe Vidal and Eiichi Sato of the "Valérian: Agent Spatio-Temporel" series by Mézières and Christin that has been running since 1967.

I recently saw the first episodes of this anime about zombies and cult conspiracies in 18th century France.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
