No, because that wouldn't have been funny.

Actually I seem to remember a thread from a few years back where he actually said Chicago Deep Dish is the world's greatest pizza style, even greater than traditional Italian pizza, and he did have some nonsensical reason why that was the case which we all laughed at.

Worst named pizza ever since it was invented by a Texan who played for the University of Texas.  It should be called Longhorn Deep Dish.

Essex county is not very interesting.

That's a pity, I was kinda looking forward to a trip through "Lovecraft county".  :cthulu:

You can visit his Brooklyn townhouse.

Nor even remotely accurate.

 I like Chicago-style pizza, but real NYC/Philly pizzeria pizza is like a million times better.

Quote from: Ed Anger on September 01, 2009, 07:54:02 AMHe'll tell us that Deep Dish pizza is firmly rooted in history as a Persian dish, where it spread to Byzantium via Armenia.

Then he'll choke himself whle splooging over some obscure people.

What kind of pizza is it they serve at Papa John's?

Heh, my Italian grandmother used to make a great thick pizza. I still remember it to this day. Was delicious!

A bump, in order to start setting things up for good now that I have a clearer schedule, for those interested in some kind of meet:

- I'll be staying in NYC from september the 26th (saturday) to october the 2nd (Friday). Probably the best day for a meet would be between Monday and Thursday.
- I'll be Upstate for the following weekend (3-4), but with very limited mobility so I don't think I'd be able to work something those days.
- I'll go down to Philly and Washington after that, leaving NY on the 5th (monday) and going back there on the 9th (friday). Those of you who were up for a meet there, please give me some feedback on possible dates, in order to book hotels in those cities for the particular timeframe. My idea is spending one day in Philly and 2-3 in DC, leaving some margin for a potential Baltimore run.

Looking forward to hearing from you.  ;)

How far upstate Larch?

Ithaca, Tompkins County, with a possible visit to Niagara in the package.
