Biden seems talented and honourable to me.

It's something I have seen in relation to Orban over the years: one thing these populists like him and Trump etc. know how to do is grab people's attention. Even those who hate them can't look away.

So when an opponent comes around who you CAN look away from, he/she appears lacking in comparison, despite being usually much better overall.

Some early number-crunching suggests that the Covid epidemic has provoked a +66% excess dead in Spain during the month of March. 40% of people that has died during this past month has died of Covid-19.

Awful numbers in the UK today. Another 563 deaths (+31%) and tests are still not happening on the scale they should be.

Don't know the issues but the government is really fucking up its plan to ramp up testing and to get PPE to hospitals at the minute.

Also it feels like staff self-isolating is going to be the biggest capacity issue in the NHS, apparently 1 in 4 front-line staff are self-isolating at the minute. But the plan to test NHS staff (which could get people back into work) is really not being delivered, only 2,000 tests so far.

To be fair who knows what the real issue/bottleneck is, but this government has been assembled along a single line of requirement: must be a sycophant to and less electable than Boris Johnson. That might not be an ideal gang in charge during a crisis.

Yeah but the galaxy brains at the DNC are running a senile vegetable

Everyone knows the Bilderberg Meeting chose Biden.

The DNC is far from perfect, but in this case the blame lies almost entirely with the voters, not the DNC.

The next 2 weeks will be crucial in expanding production and capacity.

That's exactly what the Bilderberg Meeting, operating through their DNC front organization, want you to believe.

One leading Brexit Leave sponsor already has a contract, should be an easy enough switch from vacuum cleaners. I am not sure how much time the other big sponsor, the pub chain owner, will need to start his own production though, so we might be in trouble.

Heh, that's exactly the same complains we've had in Spain. We're all competing for the same resources.

Maybe. But health and public health, are devolved matters and the same issues are affecting the SNP in Scotland, Welsh Labour Party in Wales (where a company's just pulled out of a procurement contract for thousands of tests) and the DUP and Sinn Fein in Northern Ireland.

It seems like there's some fundamental problems they need to sort - and quickly.

What this story really needed was a video of the dickhead with the dog being a dickhead.

Does help that she's cute though.

Again, these same issues are present in Spain. The fundamental problem here is that everybody is chasing PPEs and tests. Yes, there's been a big component of "These Chinese/Italian/Spaniards can't help themselves, this surely won't happen to us Italian/Spaniards/*Insert Western Country*" that's led to further unpreparedness, but right now everybody is in the business.
