There are many faults with the political thinking today, but one of them is neglecting the value of pragmatism.  You're better off going forward slowly than backwards quickly.

Go, Bernie, go! I would have preferred Warren, but if Sanders thinks he'll still be vital enough to serve as President in his 80s, who am I to second guess him? He's right about everything else.

Oh good. So glad we have one of you guys around :P

Well I have to admit I thought one of Bernie's followers would run in 2020 to carry forth the Pinko banner but I guess America is ready for an Octogenarian President.

You should be out figuring ways to power the robots to produce our more equitably distributed goods.

Oh I'd totally vote for an agreeable centrist Democrat candidate over the clown we have in office now.  Unfortunately, the few Dems that meet those requirements have no interest in running.

So bring on the crazy socialist.

So you are using an 'agreeable' fig leaf. Hillary was centrist. ;)

Or Jerry Brown.

He has proven to be pretty decent in his latest period of governorship. I remember thinking California can't do better than resuscitating a corpse?

Well let's see who is out there come 2019.

But I would prefer no crazies of any stripe get nominated to a major party any time soon.

Oh, come on now.  I know you'd drink her bathwater and all, but you have to admit she wasn't agreeable.

And I don't accept her as a centrist (perhaps at the center of the Democrat party, but that's not what I meant).

Sometimes I think this is my generation's fault. We just aren't producing leaders.

Case in point.

Bernie is a great excuse for people to vote for Trump. Again.

Which is your fig leaf against voting for a centrist Dem.

Well she was obnoxious and disliked. Who is a centrist? Bill?

It'd be nice to have a boring caretaker president for a change.

I'd say Bill was centrist enough.  Seems like he has toed the party line a lot more since he left office, though.
