You feel a tribal obligation to make excuses for Corbyn, I get that. :P

But he is simply terrible. Crisis such as this really help to see true qualities and he is not measuring up at all. The only question is whether this is because he has motives he needs to hide so deeply that it results in this inept inaction, or that he is just inept.

Nope. I'm not a Corbyn fan at all.
The media goes way over the top in making stuff up about him though.
There's more than enough legitimate criticisms without going into the plotting the downfall of the UK stuff.

Corbyn is a non-entity. McDonnell is a substantial figure and the one to watch for how a future Labour government might be.

Their "yellow vests" protesters gathered zero support a month or two ago when they wanted to start a protest in London. This Farage march has so far gathered 100 supporters, but also a strong counter-protest.

It seems like Brexit has become just the passion of the extreme lunatic and the recklessly adventurous rich. But we are pressing on because, well, you know.

I was away this weekend so unfortunately missed it though as Tamas mentioned Farage decided to organise a march for leave, a (supposed, not really) walk from Sunderland to London to demand brexit.
....only 350 turned up....and  that's being generous with the numbers. Most footage shows well under 100.
Nonetheless they managed to make tits of themselves by attacking counter-protesters.
Also. This made me giggle:

Those "Led by donkeys" guys are pretty brilliant, so happy they've been able to humiliate Farage as he deserves.

It's only missing the beginning of "Sound of silence" when it focuses on him.

Parliament has said there will be no Brexit without a deal. There is a only one deal currently that Parliament has said they will not accept.

Quite the conundrum :hmm:

Even better - the Speaker just said there could not be a 3rd vote on the May Deal without actual changes or a new session of parliament.

QuoteBercow says it has been rumoured third, or possibly fourth, votes may be scheduled.

So he is setting out his views.

If the government brings forward a new proposition, that would be in order.

But the government cannot bring back "the same proposition", or "substantially the same proposition".

He says this is not his final ruling on the matter.

He is just setting out the test the government must meet.

Could May be playing the long game of trying to keep the UK in the EU? If she fails enough, perhaps enough time will pass and the whole thing forgotten or a new referendum will be successful?

So perhaps it's not in her interest to get her deal through, banking on that parliament will never allow a hard brexit, since the government hasn't prepared a hard brexit. And her government won't prepare a hard brexit.

I think May would prefer to be the PM who leads the UK out of the EU, but otherwise yes - I suspect she would rather remain in the EU then crash out of it without a deal in place.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Funny that there's mild controversy about whether government can just push the same vote again and again until somehow it gets passed. It's the kind of pointlessly idiotic behavior that in natural circumstances would never occur.

That's the view among brexiteers. It's not that a great deal is impossible. It's just that May is trying to sabotage Brexit.

Josquius

It's unlikely.
It was oft noted  in the remain campaign back in 2016 that it was bizzare she chose that side, the only  question was whether she did that because she thought it best for her career or if she was a fifth columnist.
