Today I accidentally learned that you're supposed to put just one space between sentences.  What the fuck?  My school teachers failed me again.  :(

Why would you put more than one space between sentences?

Well that was how I was taught. Then I went back to school in 2009 and everybody was putting just one space between sentences. So I do that now.

What kind of weird Soviet-US axis of double space was this??!? Freaks.

That's how Mrs. Friedman taught us to do it in 9th grade.  It did seem weird at the time, but so did not indenting the first line of new paragraphs.  With things like these, you should do what you're told and not overthink it.

The ad is quite lively at least.  :D

I like the fact that it is a limited time offer. As in, the ocean may run out of non-specific meat at any time.  ;)

Would you eat a sandwich described as being made of "ocean meat"?

What about one made of "land meat"?

I think it is a derivation of their marketing slogan, "We have the meats!"

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

One space after a period,  two spaces after a comma. Don't ask why,  I don't see the logic either.

It's an artifact of the changing in forms of media.

Double space after a period was the standard when typewriters were the norm. Now that kerning and font choice are super easy, single space has (mostly) become the norm. Specific style guides may call for double space, but that's been disappearing this last five to ten years.

I like one space before a question mark, because it looks better and I make my own rules, OK ?

It doesn't look better.
