I'm flying to shoot second season of show for animal planet based out of Fairbanks.
My neighbor does have a Norwegian musher and his 16 strong sled dog team staying here this week before the race.

The new Bugatti Chiron. 261 mph governed top speed, 1500 hp, 16 cylinder engine, 2.6 million USD. I somehow like the sheer pointlessness of it.

Seems to really defeat the purpose to have a 261 mph car with an automatic transmission.

Why? You could probably not operate the clutch and manual gear shift fast enough to max out the acceleration of the car otherwise. A human is just not fast enough.

The driver isnt ever going to be able to max out the acceleration in most circumstances anyway.  Sports cars are about the joy of driving them.  With an automatic transmission many lesser cars will do.

You can however feel like you're going too fast and might crash into something with any type of transmission.
