Bob Ross and especially Mr. Rogers are national treasures. When I feel low their existence makes me feel better; it is not hard to conceive of them as real friends, and the way their sincere friendliness reaches out across time and miles is amazing. I owe them a great gratitude, and would love if I could be more like an amalgamation of both of them.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Laugh if you will- i'm incredibly grateful to him, and spent the last hour and some odd working on a sonnet for him. I terribly wish more than usual that it was better; he deserves better, but the nature of Mr. Rogers is that he (who would spare no effort on others behalf) would accept an earnest attempt.

Quote
To love our neighbor is a trying task
They are full of failings, and so are we
Of many men it is too much to ask
And so, your saintly sincerity

entering into America's homes
as a loving neighbor to the nation
addressing us all in gentle tones
is a gift beyond any estimation

Not everyone has the home that they should
Some lack safety, and more lack direction
But you made sure we all understood
ourselves and our need for others' affection

The man on whom I could always depend,
I consider you still my oldest friend
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

There is thunder outside, and I'm afraid there might be thunder lizards. :(

Marky Mark is starting to let himself go.

Not really, check him in his new movie, "Pain & Gain", about a couple of bodybuilders turning into crime:

If any of you guys bought a Madden game new between 2005 & Mid 2012, there's class action settlement where you can get some of your money back.

Apparently Steven Soderbergh had to take his docupic about Liberace, "Behind the Candelabra", starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, to HBO because Hollywood studios believed it was "too gay".
That sounds as it should be. The trailer looks promising:

I put in for my 8-game limit for Xbox 360.  Submitted for 4 of the original Xbox/PS2 titles (I may have bought more but can't remember for certain).  Hope they don't ask for receipts

LOL, no shit.  I stopped buying Madden around 2006, but I've bought every NCAA Football during their time period.

What else was he? Beside Mark's brother, that is.
